			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CANTON, Ohio—VXI Global Solutions Inc. will dedicated the completion of the Phase II build-out and announced further hiring of more than 160 employees in the coming weeks. VXI Global Solutions President David Zhou joined Mayor William J. Healy II, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Team NEO, and the Employment Source on Wednesday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. at their downtown location of 401 Cleveland Avenue NW. </p>
<p>“We are very appreciative that VXI Global Solutions Inc. has progressed so quickly in advancing this development project, and in doing so, providing 160 additional jobs in the City of Canton,” said Mayor William J. Healy II. “To date, more than 300 people have obtained employment through VXI, not including the additional 160 jobs to be added with today’s announcement.” </p>
<p>Nick Covelli, Senior Vice President of Sales, stated, “We’re very excited about our new facility in historic Canton, OH, home to the NFL Hall of Fame. Located in downtown Canton, we expect our newest VXI location to become the flagship of our US Call Center facilities.”</p>
<p>VXI has worked closely with Mayor Healy and Regional Chamber of Commerce, a partnership that has proved very rewarding. “Throughout our search for our next new site, Mayor Healy and his team has been extremely helpful and cooperative. We are very pleased to have located our newest delivery center in Canton,” said Mr. Zhou of VXI noted. </p>
<p>Renovations will continue on the other floors as the company continues to recruit, train and place employees at the Canton operation. VXI also has plans to open more than 250 jobs in Q1 of 2012. </p>

<p>CANTON — VXI Global Solutions is expected to open a call center in the city.</p>
<p>“I’m proud to announce that an agreement has been reached between VXI Global Solutions and Canton Centre to bring 1,000 new jobs to the city of Canton,” Mayor William J. Healy II said late Tuesday afternoon in a news release.</p>
<p>The project is expected to create about 1,000 jobs within three years. Healy expects wages to range from $9 to $18 an hour. Benefits will be included. The average wage will be $10 to $12 an hour, he said.</p>
<p>Services include account management, retention calls and client support in more than 20 languages.</p>
<p>Positions will include outbound and inbound sales agents, supervisors, operations managers, human resource managers, trainers and recruiters, Healy said.</p>
<p>Within three years, Global Solutions could be among the top five or top 10 employers in Canton, he said.</p>
<p>“&#8230; these types of opportunities don’t come around (often) to the city,” Healy said of VXI Global Solutions. “It is a huge deal.”</p>
<p>COMPANY REVEALED</p>
<p>Healy and Robert Torres, the city’s development director, previously had declined to name the business, citing the ongoing negotiations.</p>
<p>After The Repository contacted Healy and Torres Tuesday afternoon with the name of the company, the mayor released a statement.</p>
<p>Healy said he had been prepared to acknowledge the name of the business, and comment further on the project, once the media learned the company’s identity. In late April, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for Global Solution’s proposed call center in Canton, according to Bethany McCorkle, a spokeswoman with the Ohio Department of Development.</p>
<p>“This has been so close for some time, and there have been so many different things in the works &#8230; and we’ve been anxiously waiting for a time to go public,” Healy said.</p>
<p>City officials have been working on the project for about five months, Healy said. “This thing was on the verge of announcement for several weeks because of a few things (the company was) trying to finalize,” he said.</p>
<p>Nick Covelli, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Global Solutions, could not be reached for comment Tuesday.</p>
<p>‘TECHNICAL ISSUES’</p>
<p>Healy said the deal is close to being finalized. Some “technical issues” need to be addressed, he said.</p>
<p>But “until you have all the I’s dotted and cross all the T’s, you don’t want to assume anything,” he said.</p>
<p>VXI Global Solutions has begun the hiring process and has scheduled a job fair for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at The Employment Source at 822 30th St. NW, according to the mayor’s news release.</p>

<p>GLOBAL COMPANY</p>
<p>VXI Global Solutions has 10 call centers, including locations in Youngstown, California, Texas, the Philippines and China. The company employs more than 1,200 in the United States, according to the Ohio Department of Development.</p>
<p>Canton was in competition with communities in South Carolina and Pennsylvania for the call center, according to the Department of Development.</p>
<p>City Council has to vote on economic development incentives for the project, including a $700,000 grant spread over seven years. The grant would be funded with Community Development Block Grant dollars through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.</p>
<p>ANNUAL PAYROLL</p>
<p>Global Solutions will hire 966 full-time employees within three years, generating $21.8 million in new annual payroll, according to the Department of Development. The average wage will be $10.88, the agency said.</p>
<p>As part of the tax credit agreement, Global Solutions will be required to maintain operations at the Canton site for at least 10 years.</p>
<p>The company has not formally accepted the state tax credit incentive, Healy said.</p>
<p>Asked whether plans with Global Solutions could fall through, Healy said, “I don’t like to count my eggs before they hatch. &#8230; I guess until they actually move in, anything is possible.”</p>
<p>Healy noted construction already is under way at the Canton Centre shopping complex on Tuscarawas Street W. Global Solutions will locate in the space formerly occupied by Macy’s.</p>
<p>City incentives will pay for a portion of the renovations.</p>
<p>The Canton Centre property is owned by Nassimi Realty, based in New York City.</p>
<p>The call center will occupy first-floor space. Second floor space at the Macy’s site will be available for another tenant, Healy said.</p>
<p>He is hopeful the new employees at the Canton Centre property will help trigger more retail development.</p>
<p>“It’s going to be a huge &#8230; economic impact for that section of town as well as the entire city,” Healy said. “And we expect there could be some further announcements.”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, Feb. 3, 2011 — VXI Global Solutions Inc. must fill about 200 positions in the near term at its downtown call center, a need driven in part by clients specifically asking that their work be done here, its CEO says.</p>
<p>VXI, which opened an inbound call center in 20 Federal Place in fall 2009 and now employs more than 800 customer service representatives and supervisors on the building’s fourth and fifth floors, is about to embark on a new advertising campaign soliciting employees.</p>
<p>The company held an open house Tuesday and has another one planned for Feb. 16, said Stuart Foster, operations director at the call center.</p>
<p>“We have more business to bring to Youngstown and we have a project pending. We want to grow the business here in Youngstown,” said Eva Wang, VXI’s CEO.</p>
<p>The company needs more employees at the Youngstown call center to accommodate contracts assigned to the center, which Wang said is a “very good fit” for the company. When the Youngstown call center first opened, it soon matched the performance of VXI’s existing centers in Los Angeles and Texas, she remarked.</p>
<p>“We are very pleased with the work force here,” Wang said. Some clients specifically request that VXI assign their projects here. “So it’s very important for us to hire enough people to satisfy the growth needs,” she added.</p>
<p>“We’ve been growing so fast that right now it’s about trying to get people in the door,” Foster said. “People need to hear about the type of earnings they can make here and understand what we do.” Factoring in performance bonuses, some top performers make around $18 per hour, he said. An average agent “can actually earn around $12 or $13 an hour very easily,” he added.</p>
<p>“There are some pretty amazing success stories at the call center about people now making significantly more than they ever thought they would,” said David Bozanich, city finance director.</p>
<p>Bozanich attributed VXI’s difficulty in filing positions in part to a dropoff in applications following its most recent expansion. After the initial public relations push when the fifth floor space opened last fall, potential applicants might not know positions are still available. The company has said it plans to employ about 1,200 workers on the two floors.</p>
<p>“Not too many times in my career,” Bozanich reflected, “have I been able to say, ‘Go apply for a job. They want to hire.’ Usually there’s a significant excess of applications to availability of positions. Here we have a significant excess of positions available to the applicants.”</p>
<p>Bozanich, who met with Wang Tuesday, said the city wants to continue to work with VXI to fill its open positions. Among the efforts it plans to undertake is an initiative with the One-Stop employment offices.</p>
<p>VXI officials “have always told us [further expansion] is always on their radar screens,” Bozanich said.</p>
<p>“They are out soliciting additional contracts with their clients and it’s always a concern where they place those contracts, whether it’s in Texas, California or Youngstown,” he continued. “We want to have the right strategic alliance with them that says, ‘We’re going to put this in Youngstown.’”</p>

<p><strong>VXI GLOBAL SOLUTIONS, INC. EXPANDS OPERATIONS IN YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO</strong></p>
<p>Staying true to its expansion plans for the 4th quarter of 2010, VXI Global Solutions,  Inc. unveiled its newly acquired and renovated floor at the 20 Federal Place Building,  Youngstown Ohio. Starting with 4th floor in 2009, VXI now has operations on the  5th floor as well with enough capacity to more than double its workforce. In an  interview last August, VXI Senior Vice President Nick Covelli stated that, “VXI  expects its workforce at Youngstown to reach 1,200 within a year.”</p>
<p>The offices were unveiled in a ribbon cutting ceremony on the 29th of October 2010,  which was attended by members of VXI’s Senior Leadership Team led by Regional VP  for Operations John Alaburda. Also present were many of Youngstown’s business elite,  local officials and the local press.</p>
<p>Mayor Jay Williams, Congressman Tim Ryan and Congressman Charlie Wilson all praised  VXI for choosing to expand in Youngstown. <p>The company recently opened a call center in Youngstown and has plans to double its capacity there. According to George Scileppi, a projects director, the company anticipates hiring an additional 1,000 call center representatives globally by the end of 2010. Scileppi attributes much of this hiring to a shift in the company’s business model, from an outbound-centric sales force to an inbound support model.</p>
